It's a custom deck of cards that have multiple secretive marks on each card, hidden in plain sight.



These decks allow the user to know the value and suit of the card simply by looking at the back of the cards in a specific spot.

Generally, there are two types of marked decks: Coded and readers. The difference of which lies on how the markings are indicated.

Coded Marked Decks: A system that uses specific markings or patterns on a uniform spot throughout the deck - such as a clock system to determine value.

Reader Marked Decks: A system of which explicitly says the value of the card giving a much faster response time for the performer.

Marked decks, when used right, can be an incredibly powerful tool for magicians.
