Koichi Yairi is a contemporary Japanese graphic artist and painter born in 1992, known for his distinctive retro cartoon style and monochromatic half-tone imagery that feels influenced by 1950s Western comics. He graduated from Musashino Art University with a background in visual communication design and works with a signature character motif, often featuring ghost-like figures and whimsical narratives that blend humor, storytelling, and visual simplicity. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions in Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, and Seoul, and he also does client work including album art, apparel, and other creative collaborations.
